Hockey Fetisov names the Olympic team composure
Vyacheslav Fetisov named the Russian Olympic team composure to play in Salt Lake City in 2002. The major part of names was already known. Today Vallery Bure and Viktor Kozlov from Florida, Ilia Kovalchuk from Atlanta, Oleg Kvasha from New York Islanders, Maxim Afinogenov from Buffalo and Andrey Nikolishin from Washington. The third goalkeeper isn't known yet, it will be determined after the decision on the case of Evgeny Nabokov. |
Two points should be marked here. First, Vyacheslav Fetisov decided to take seven backs, having failed to agree with Alexey Zhitnik. Secodly, Fetisov counted on club ties. Only this can explain inviting Vallery Bure and Viktor Kozlov from Florida, who will go in accordance with Pavel Bure. The same considerations motivated presence of Igor Kvasha, who plays well with Alexey Yashin. |
