Cross country Skari wins the first season’s race, Danilova is the second
Bente Skari (Norway) won the 10km race in classic style on the Kuopio stage (Finland) of the World Cup that started today. Olga Danilova (Russia) won the silver medal. |
Danilova started under 78th number after the World Cup champion of the last season Julia Tchepalova. Classic race is not her favorite one. Danilova, on the contrary, was going confidently and showed the best time in all control points. Olga overcame her leaving behind Lina Andersson (Sweden) with the difference of almost 10 seconds. But what was doing Skari, who was the last to start! On the second control point she surpassed the good time result by Danilova on almost 20 (!) seconds. The Russians Lubov Egorova and Larisa Lazutina who entered the route just before her wouldn't stop her. As a result Skari managed to save her speed, and she finished first. |
